ACCA software in South America: advancing openBIM® and Digital Twin workflows
In September 2026, ACCA software will take part in two major international events in South America: BIM Forum Chile 2026 and the Esri User Conference 2026
BIM is evolving beyond national and disciplinary boundaries, with an increasing focus on interoperability, data management, openBIM®, Common Data Environments (CDEs), and Digital Twins. In this context, South America is emerging as a particularly dynamic region, hosting events that bring together professionals, companies, institutions, and organizations driving the digital transformation of the construction and infrastructure sectors.
In September 2026, ACCA software will ake part in two key international events: the Congreso Internacional BIM Forum Chile 2026, taking place on September 1 in Santiago, Chile, and the Conferencia de Usuarios Esri 2026, scheduled for September 3–4 in Panama.
Across both events, ACCA will highlight how openBIM®, CDE, GIS, and Digital Twin technologies can work together to create more connected, interoperable, and data-driven workflows
Congreso Internacional BIM Forum Chile 2026
The first event is the Congreso Internacional BIM Forum Chile 2026, organized by BIM Forum Chile and buildingSMART Chile, co-organized with the Cámara Chilena de la Construcción.
The event will be held on September 1st, 2026, from 8:30 to 18:00, at the Cámara Chilena de la Construcción in Santiago, Chile.
The congress represents a moment for international discussion on the digital transformation processes of the construction sector and the technologies that are helping to make BIM workflows more efficient and interoperable.
ACCA software will participate in the event as a Diamond Sponsor, with the presence of a booth (number 6), dedicated to meeting with professionals and showcasing the company’s solutions.
Particular emphasis will be placed on presentations dedicated to openBIM® and data management:
- At 12:40, in Block 4, ACCA will take part in the openBIM® Lab, realized with the participation of buildingSMART International. The workshop will delve into the openBIM® standards and ISO 19650, demonstrating how interoperability can transform from a technological requirement to a concrete element for improving collaboration among the different players in a project.
The lab will also have a practical component, with a live demonstration of platforms for the validation and review of IFC models, offering participants a concrete example of how BIM data can be verified, shared, and used within truly interoperable processes. - At 15:30, in Salon 5, ACCA software will again be at the forefront with a technical presentation titled “openBIM® and data governance”: effective data governance allows CDE and openBIM® to transform from mere work environments to true strategic assets, ensuring that information is accurate, accessible, up-to-date, and secure.
Conferencia de Usuarios Esri 2026: from BIM and GIS to digital twins
After Chile, ACCA’s journey in South America continues in Panama, where the Esri User Conference 2026 will take place on September 3rd and 4th at the Marriott Panamá Albrook Hotel.
The conference represents an important appointment dedicated to the world of GIS and the applications of geospatial technologies, with a focus on how territorial data can support analysis, planning, and management of infrastructures.
In this case, ACCA software will participate in the event with a Standard Sponsorship, focusing on the integration between BIM, GIS, openBIM® models, and point clouds, showing how these worlds can integrate to build increasingly complete georeferenced digital representations of the territory and the works.
On September 3rd at 16:30, at the Convention Center of the Hotel, ACCA will present the talk: “How to use any common data environment (CDE) BIM such as ACCA, Autodesk, Bentley, and Trimble with GIS to create geospatial digital twins using OpenBIM® models and point clouds”.
The presentation will show how it is possible to connect any common BIM data environment – such as those offered by ACCA, Autodesk, Bentley, and Trimble – with GIS systems, using openBIM® models and point clouds. The focus is therefore on the integration between BIM data and geospatial data for the creation of geospatial digital twins.
For ACCA software, these events represent an important opportunity to directly engage with the South American BIM and GIS community, share experiences, and demonstrate how the adoption of open standards and data integration can enhance digital processes throughout the life cycle of works.
