How to create and integrate a stylish spiral stairs element using the Edificius BIM software. Here are a series of videos that show how it was modelled.<\/p>\n

Inspired by the architectural design firm A-cero in Madrid, we’ll be taking a look at the modelling phases involved in re-creating this spiral staircase using Edificius, the architectural BIM design software.<\/p>\n

This project relates to a 1250m\u00b2 family villa built on a \u200b\u200b1,700m\u00b2 plot.
\nAccess to the house is provided by a shared driveway for vehicles and people. The border fence was built by A-cero using the same stone material used for the house and the fences made of black galvanized steel.<\/p>\n

The entire area has a beautifully kept garden, consistent with the architecture of the house. The facade was made from limestone and black glass. Based on customer preferences, the project was developed on an orthogonal base, although this kind of solution doesn’t fully reflect the traditional design styles of A-cero.<\/p>\n

Entrance to the house finds access to a large sinuous spiral staircase that connects the three floors together.<\/p>\n

The staircase was made of white surface finish and glass, turning out to be itself an elegant design element with a strong visual impact.<\/p>\n

Modelling the staircase<\/h2>\n

Starting out from the basement level, you can see how the staircase structure was easily set up in Edificius, defining the risers, tread lengths, the internal radius and the rising direction.<\/h3>\n

As seen in the previous steps at basement level, we can see how the ground floor was modelled together with the various stair object parameters.<\/h3>\n
