ACCA Software and OpenBIM Hub: Training and Solutions for OpenBIM®
ACCA software participates in the OpenBIM Hub courses to promote practical training on openBIM®

The evolution of BIM is leading the AECO sector towards a new phase, where interoperability, information management, and open standards play an increasingly important role.
It’s no longer enough to just know how to model: professionals must know how to consult, plan, quantify, validate, and manage the information contained in BIM models.
In this context, ACCA software participates in the specialized courses of OpenBIM Hub, providing some of its main professional solutions to work with workflows based on openBIM® and IFC.

OpenBIM Hub: specialized training for AECO sector professionals
OpenBIM Hub is a specialized training platform in openBIM®, IFC, interoperability, and information management.
Its proposal is aimed at professionals who need to manage contracts and infrastructure projects through BIM models and understand how open standards can be integrated into the different processes of a project or a construction work.
The courses address topics such as IFC, IDS, BCF, ISO 19650, planning, costs, model validation, and Common Data Environments (CDE).
One of the main strengths of this training is the practical approach. The goal is not just to explain theoretical concepts, but to show how to use openBIM® standards and tools according to the professional role and the most suitable process at each stage.
The contribution of ACCA software
The participation of ACCA software strengthens this practical approach through the use of solutions from the usBIM ecosystem and professional tools for cost management.
The company has a wide ecosystem of solutions dedicated to BIM and openBIM® processes, with tools that allow working with IFC models at different stages of the project lifecycle.
In the OpenBIM Hub courses, these solutions allow to demonstrate concretely how an IFC model can become a source of information for various project processes, from model consultation and analysis to planning, quantification, validation, and information management.
Practical training to work in openBIM®
As part of this collaboration, ACCA software participates in seven specialized OpenBIM Hub courses, each focused on a specific application of open standards and models:
- Basic Course on the IFC schema, with usBIM.browser, to understand the structure and information contained in IFC models;
- Artificial Intelligence Course applied to IFC models, to explore the possibilities of AI applied to the information contained in openBIM® models;
- Budget Course with IFC models, with PriMus IFC, to connect the model to measurements, prices, and estimates;
- Planning Course with IFC models, with usBIM.gantt, to link model elements to work scheduling;
- Planning Tracking Course with IFC models, dedicated to monitoring the progress of work through model and scheduling information;
- Design and Model Validation Course with IFC, with usBIM.IDS and usBIM.checker, to verify the requirements and quality of the information;
- Communications Course through Common Data Environment, with usBIM.platform, to manage information and communications within a CDE.
The collection of courses allows exploring different applications of openBIM®, from understanding the structure of an IFC model to its use as support for costs, planning, control, validation, and collaboration.
Basic IFC course and usBIM.browser
The Basic Course on the IFC schema introduces participants to IFC 4.3 ADD2, currently defined by the ISO 16739-1:2024 standard, with a practical approach aimed at non-technical users.
During the training, fundamental concepts are addressed, such as:
- what IFC is and its role in the openBIM® ecosystem;
- the relationship between IFC, IDS, and BCF;
- the general structure of an IFC model;
- entities, attributes, properties, classifications, and materials;
- measurements and georeferencing;
- Model View Definitions (MVD);
- using different openBIM® viewers.
Among the solutions used during the course is usBIM.browser, ACCA software’s IFC viewer, which allows opening, visualizing, and analyzing BIM models directly from a web environment.
The next available edition is scheduled from September 15 to October 8, 2026, with lessons on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
The training is online and live, lasts 20 hours, and is limited to a maximum of 15 participants.

Artificial Intelligence Applied to IFC Models
The Course Artificial Intelligence Applied to IFC Models specifically addresses the application of AI tools and methodologies to IFC models and data.
The goal is to explore how artificial intelligence can contribute to querying, interpreting, and utilizing project information contained within openBIM® models more efficiently, expanding the possibilities for interacting with project data.
Among the applications discussed is the ability to interact with IFC models through natural language, analyze information, extract properties and quantities, and obtain useful responses for various project processes.
The next edition currently available is scheduled from September 14 to 30, 2026, with lessons on Monday and Wednesday from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM.
The training is online and live, lasts for 18 hours, distributed over 6 lessons of 3 hours each, and is reserved for a maximum of 15 participants.
Estimates with IFC and PriMus IFC
The Course Estimates with IFC Models addresses the workflow that connects information contained in an openBIM® model to measurement, price management, and estimation processes.
In this case, ACCA software participates through PriMus IFC, the solution that allows working with IFC models and linking their elements to the necessary information to prepare the estimation.
Participants can thus understand how to transition from the geometric and parametric information of the model to a more integrated estimation process.
Work Planning with IFC and usBIM.gantt
The Course Planning with IFC Models teaches how to link activities to model elements to analyze and control the development of works.
In this process, usBIM.gantt is used, the ACCA software solution for 4D BIM planning.
The aim is to understand how to utilize the IFC model as support for:
- structuring the planning;
- linking activities and construction elements;
- visualizing the execution sequence;
- analyzing work progress;
- improving the communication of the schedule through a representation connected to the model.

Monitoring Planning with IFC Models
The Course on Monitoring Planning with IFC Models expands the BIM planning approach to the execution phase, showing how to use model and schedule information to monitor work progress.
This application of openBIM® is particularly relevant for professionals involved in managing and supervising projects and works, where model information can be used to analyze progress and facilitate decision-making.
Monitoring thus allows for a shift from static planning to more dynamic management, where the model and temporal information can be used together to understand the project’s evolution.
Validation of IFC Models with usBIM.IDS and usBIM.checker
The Course on Validation of IFC Models focuses on rules, IDS, and quality control processes aimed at verifying that the delivered models contain the required information.
ACCA software participates with usBIM.IDS and usBIM.checker, tools dedicated to defining and verifying information requirements and validating models.
This approach allows for a transition from an exclusively visual review to a much more structured control methodology, where specific aspects of the model can be verified against previously defined requirements.

Communications through CDE with usBIM.platform
The latest course addresses one of the fundamental pillars of BIM management: the Common Data Environment, or CDE.
The Course Communications through Common Data Environment by OpenBIM Hub deals with:
- information flows;
- roles and responsibilities;
- organization of documentation;
- communications among the various parties involved;
- traceability of information;
- management of a Common Data Environment.
The tool used is usBIM.platform, the CDE platform of ACCA software integrated into the usBIM ecosystem.
Through the platform, participants can concretely understand how to centralize and manage project information within a collaborative environment.
If you want to improve your openBIM® skills and learn to work practically with IFC models, the courses from OpenBIM Hub represent an opportunity to acquire knowledge that is directly applicable to professional projects.
